I'm not sure if it's as bad for me as it is for you, but at full volume on my Dell lap top JAWS sounds pretty tinny and is not very loud at all. Music sounds ok, but not fantastic. It may just be the way it is, unless someone else knows of a fix for you... a booster for JAWS or something. Maybe there's a bass boost somewhere? I think my lap top has a bass boost somewhere that helped me a little. I forget. It was two years ago when first set up. Anyway, I almost always use ear buds rather than struggle to hear JAWS via the speakers.
