On the view menu, open the current view submenu, and if group messages by
conversation is checked, hit enter on it, since what's most likely happened
is that has been enabled, and so messages with similar subject lines would
then be grouped, so you would use left and right arrow keys to
expand/collapse the grouping, and you're being informed of the status all
the time.
This grouping is something that would be useful for large amounts of mailing
list messages FWIW.

Using Jaws 11 and XP home. I know I must have inadvertently hit something
so it says expanded on each email. I looked in the file menus and can't
find a way to stop this from happening. Is there a hot key or another
