If you have Microsoft Office 2003, Office XP (2002), or maybe even Office 2000, this newer 2007 Word document file type can be opened and saved in this format. There is a small pplug-in type of program that gives these older versions new file formats. There is a simple installer for this called something like File Conversion Tool. It is available on the Programs webpage for this list.

Hi Matt;

I couldn't find a " .DOCX " file extension but, I did find a " .DOX "
extension.  This is what I found;
.dox text file (MultiMate 4.0)

I don't have a " .DOX " file to attempt to assign a file to open it. So,
what you can try is;
1. Highlight the file in question.
2. Press your application / context menu key.
3. Arrow down to " Open With " and press enter.
4. A list of possible programs that will open this file will appear. Arrow down the list and select one. Tab to okay and press enter to see if it will
open.

Something I tried was to change the file extension on a Word document from a
" .DOC " extension to a " DOX " extension. I pressed the application key,
arrowed to Open With, pressed enter, selected / highlighted Microsoft Word
from the list, tabbed to okay, pressed enter, and Hot Damn it opened! Hope
this helps.  Take care.
Mike
