Hi Again; Another reason that document might have been garbled crap is that it might be an Excel file! The program I sent you a little while ago I believe, will work with Excel worksheets also. Take care. Mike

Matt, do you have the Compatibility Pack for the Office 2007 system installed? If not that may be why Microsoft Word won't work. Below is a direct download link for the program. http://www.jaws-users.com/programs/Productivity/FileFormatConverters.zip Description; Program That Converts Office 2007 Documents To Be Compatible With Office 2000 And Up. Hope this helps. Take care. So far... no good on getting it to open. I got it to open in wordpad but it was all garbled crap and when I tried to print it, it spit out a few lines of garbage on each page and just wasted a bunch of paper. hahhahahah, Onward we go. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike & Barbara Arcadia To: Matt Sent: Monday, August 23, 2010 6:21 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Weird extention, what do I do? Hi Matt; I couldn't find a " .DOCX " file extension but, I did find a " .DOX " extension. This is what I found; .dox text file (MultiMate 4.0) I don't have a " .DOX " file to attempt to assign a file to open it. So, what you can try is; 1. Highlight the file in question. 2. Press your application / context menu key. 3. Arrow down to " Open With " and press enter. 4. A list of possible programs that will open this file will appear. Arrow down the list and select one. Tab to okay and press enter to see if it will open. Something I tried was to change the file extension on a Word document from a " .DOC " extension to a " DOX " extension. I pressed the application key, arrowed to Open With, pressed enter, selected / highlighted Microsoft Word from the list, tabbed to okay, pressed enter, and Hot Damn it opened! Hope this helps. Take care.
