You do have a gift for finding the direct links to files I must say. In
there I discussed 2 methods for changing sounds. The first is the approved
manner and the second is a short cut method that I devised myself.

I did an audio tutorial on this topic a couple of years ago and it is posted
on the server if anybody is interested in listening.

Hi David;

Just to add 1 note to your steps of adding a sound to a an existing sound
scheme. Once the sound is added to the sound scheme, it will have to be
saved with a different name other than the name of the original sound scheme
that was altered. So Yvonne or anyone else adding sounds to your sound
scheme, after you have finished adding your sound / sounds and you are asked
to save, select yes and use your firrst name, as an example, to name the new
sound scheme, then tab to apply, spacebar, and finally tab to okay and press
enter / spacebar. If I am incorrect about the additional saving step,
someone please correct me. I only state this because I have had to do this
many times when altering sound schemes. Hope this helps. Take care.
Mike

Hello Rick;

yes I totally agree,
I wasn't sure, at first that,
    Yvonne was using a non windows sound choice.

so, Yvonne,

try the following;

1, navigate to the folder, or, the sound file you wish to use for your email
notification.

2, once you've found the file, highlight and copy to clipboard.

3, go to desktop,

4, enter on my computer,

5, enter on local disc "c",

6, press the letter "w", until you hear windows, press enter.

7, press the letter "m"=media, press enter.

8, now paste the file from clipboard.

you should see the new sound file in the list.
alt+f4 to close.

now, to change the email notification sound in your sound scheme,
do the following;

> example;  you got post
    >
>>>
>>>
>>> 1, start menu,
>>>
>>> 2, s=setting, then enter on control panel.
>>>
>>> 3, s=sounds&audio, press enter.
>>>
>>> 4, ctrl+tab=sounds tab
>>>
>>> 5, now tab until you hear,
>>> tree-view, you should be at the top of the list.
>>>
>>> 6, down arrow until you hear,
>>> new mail notification,
>>>
> >> 7, now tab to browse, and press enter.
>>>
>>> 8, now tab until you hear,
>>> chimes.wav
>>>
>>> 9, now arrow down until you hear,
>   yougotpost.wav
or, what ever the name of the sound is;
>>>
>>> 10, now tab, and spacebar on, play button,
>>>
>>> if this is the sound you wish to have,
>>> you need to enter on the okay button,
>>> then again, tab and enter on the okay button, this will add the sound to
>>> your current sound scheme.
