Hi Yvonne; If you have Jaws running & you start NVDA, Jaws keystrokes will no longer work. Try the following when you have NVDA & Jaws running at the same time.
1. Press Insert + F2, This is, Pass next key through NVDA+f2 Tells NVDA to pass the next key straight through. 2. Now, use the Jaws keystroke of Insert / Jaws key + F4, then press enter to unload / shut down Jaws. Jaws will shut down & only NVDA will be running. If you want to use Jaws again, press Insert + Q, to shut down NVDA. Then invoke whatever your shortcut keystroke is for starting Jaws. This is what I do on a XP computer, hopefully it will work the same way with Windows7. Hope this helps. Take care. And if it doesn't then you will have lots of problems because even though Jaws is silent you still have the competing keyboard commands ... so in a word NO! I want to combine jaws with n v d a Reason is there are occasions when something I do may take longer than 40 minutes For that reason I would like jaws to start then be able to mute jaws so that only n v d a is sounding. And of course be able to un mute jaws if what I am doing leaves enough time before the 40 minute deadline is up Can someone tell me if this can be done and how to do it?
