Hi all,
I just bought a USB extender cable. The USB ports on this computer I
just bought are all located on the back of the computer, and they're
hard to reach as my computer is set up, so I ordered an extender as
well as a USB hub, which I'm still waiting for to arrive. Anyway, the
problem is this: upon plugging the extender into the back of the
computer, I cannot get any devices that I plug into it to recognize.
I've tried both my external hard drives and my headset to no avail. A
message flashes saying that the device installation has failed or
something like that. I had no idea an extender cable could have
drivers of its own to cause this sort of problem. So, is there
anything I can do to fix this? I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium.
Thank you for any help you can give me, I'm hoping to get this fixed
before the hub arrives.
