Hi JM,
It sounds like you may have inadvertently changed the typing echo.
Press the Jaws Key + the number 2 on the number row to cycle thru the options.
HTH,

Subject: [Blind-Computing] my keys are no longer repeating

hey folks.

I'm not sure where else to ask this and I've looked online for a solution but so far haven't found anything too helpful. Some time the other night, my keyboard stopped repeating character input when a key was held down. This is mostly not too much of a bother when typing, however as everyone knows, sometimes it's nice to just be able to hold down the backspace key when you want to delete something, and controlling volume and other sliders is a real pain when one has to keep going "tap tap tap tap tap". I use Windows XP and Jaws 11, and I searched around in the keyboard options in control panel, only coming across "repeat rate", which is set fairly high. I also checked to make sure the "key repeat" in jaws user options was enabled in the default configuration, and it is. Is there another windows setting that I'm missing that toggles this on and off? Or is it most likely that something's wrong with my keyboard?

Any tips would be appreciated!
