Hi All,
First of all, I don't seem to be able to write to this list, unless I reply
to someone and change the subject line. Why is that?
Secondly, I am using my sighted wife's computer, and displays are slightly
different than mine.
Thirdly, last Friday Evening, I turned on my computer, and rollback was on
it. I never downloaded the program, and have no idea how it got there.
Anyway, it froze my computer completely.. I could do absolutely nothing. So
we used the restore disks from Sony. The program now has windows on it,but
nothing works. I used narrator, and all it says, is right arrow, left arrow,
etc. I wanted to get on the net, so Sony could tandem with me,and perhaps
fix the darn thing. I can't even get on the net. My wife is having surgery
tomorrow, and she won't be able to drive for awhile, so I will use this, till
we get mine working again. Anyone have ideas on what I might do to get
it working? It is a Sony Vaio laptop. And, it's wonderful, when it works.
smile. It has windows 7, on it. home premium. Jim

Hello you have to go to settings and then go to trouble shooting then
uncheck the box called self defender. Then it asks you are you sure say
yes. Then go to the avast webcite and download the removable tool. I
have the tool I can try to send it to you if you want.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Removing Avast

Can anyone tell me the steps for removing Avast anti-virus? I have a
friend who would like to install MS security essentials instead, but I
recall when I removed Avast there was a hidden part that had to be
deactivated or the program would not uninstall completely. I think I
just need a memory jog, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
