Hi Alan;

This is just a thought. Why don't you uninstall Office 2000, install Office
2007, & install a stand alone version of Outlook. I've heard that you can
get free stand alone versions of Outlook. I could have heard wrong but, it
might be worth a try. Another thing to try, completely uninstall
Office2000, reinstall it using the custom install option but, when
reinstalling do not install anything, but the Outlook portion of the program
suite. Hopefully others will jump in & shoot me down if I'm wrong or, have
better options for you to explore. Take care.
Mike

  Subject: [Blind-Computing] Mixing Office Programs

I currently have 3 computers in my house all running XP Pro.
I am planning on keeping this setup until July 2014 when MS
stops supporting it. I am still using MS Office 2000 and am
looking to upgrade to Office 2007. Since I have 3 computers,
my understanding is the student version comes with 3
licenses but no Outlook program for email. Could I install
the Office 2007 program and keep Office 2000 on my computer
so I can continue to use Outlook or will this cause
  conflicts?

  thanks
  Al
