kay. I guess I came to the right place. At this point I'm an e-mail getter and light Ie user. I just got a new Windows 7 computer. I own an Ipad. What do I do to become competent with my computer?

I just got a nice brand new Windows 7 computer. You could fit what I
know about computeing and put Rush on the head of a pin and you'd still have
room. I really want to sit down and learn. Who do I go to? Where do I
start?

I have a couple of laptops where there is this magnetic strip where if I
run
my finger across it, the internet will be turned off. I have enough vision
to know if its blue, the internet is off and if it's red, the internet is
on
or was it the other way around?

Hi Pedro,

I don't use a laptop computer but, i have read somewhere that there
might be a button or switch that turns on your wireless card.
Hopefully someone will expand upon this & get you pointed in the right
direction. Also, what brand / model laptop is it? Take care.
Mike

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Unable to get online using 64 bit laptop

Hi all. I just purchased a 64 bit laptop which has Windows Seven. I
am not able to go online with this machine but have no problem doing
so with my
32
bit desktop machine.
 Could it be the router?
The routher I am currently using is set up for hard-wired and
wireless connections but prior to this, I have only used the wireless
connection with a Mac.
I should also say that I've had this Net-gear router for several
years; long before 64 bit machines came out.
Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated.
 Pete
