There are people who successfully use the mainstream Omnipage and Finereader
applications directly, with jaws or window eyes and it works.

Kurzweil in any event uses the penultimate versions of those two engines, but
adapted so that one can effect settings you otherwise must guess much at, when
using the main products.

Openbook also uses a previous version of Finereader, perhaps also of omnipage,
but the scans of books tend to be much slower and in general, less accurate
than with Kurzweil.
And the adaptive programs are always restricted by license,from incorporating
the latest versions of the said mainstream programs.

Regards,

Riana
