On my Dell laptop I have to open the Windows Mobility Center and tab to the
bottom and find the Turn off touchpad choice. On my computer I get there
with a a flat "button" that is up in the row above the F keys-in the row
where you press the power button. On the far right there are three flat
buttons and it is the first of that group of three.
I also found it by using the search in the start menu. When you get to the
Windows Mobility Center shift twice to get to the bottom of the list. Press
the button that says Turn Off. The first time I tried it I pressed the
button that said Change touchpad settings. Current position is off (or on)
Press spacebar. Don't press the spacebar for this as when I did the
computer froze. Tab to the next button that says "Turn off".

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Turning off the mouse pad
Does anyone know how to turn off the mouse pad on a Dell Latitude 6410
running Windows7 and JAWS 12? Turning off the 2 buttons below the mouse pad
and the 3 above it is not necessary, just the actual mouse pad. But if the
buttons get turned off as well, that is fine.
Thanks,
Annette
