Hi
     My Hp 6000 has a physical button also. However, my acer is well basic.
It assumes that I want the mouse pad on. My thought was that if I could
create a hot key, it would act like the button on my other computer. I am
going to give it a try anyway.

God bless,
Mark

My personal laptop has a button above the mouse pad that lets me toggle the
mouse pad on and off, and I love it.

This work laptop has one of those "eraser" type mouse sticks in the middle
of the keyboard. I'm thinking that if I turn off the mouse pad, the mouse
stick will still be active. If not, the mouse dependent people will just
have to move over to my side of the keyboard. Smile!!

Annette

Hi David,
     I have often wished I could turn off the mouse pad on my laptop. Thank
you for the information. My one concern about turning it off is what do I do
when I need sighted assistance occasionally? Is there some way of making a
mouse pad toggle key combination?

God bless,
Mark

Hello try;

1, control panel,

2, m=mouse link, enter,
You're in the mouse properties,

3, shift+tab once, you'll land on,
Buttons tab,

4, right arrow until you hear;
Devices tab,
Now you should see your mousepad,
Tab enter on disable.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know how to turn off the mouse pad on a Dell Latitude 6410
running Windows7 and JAWS 12? Turning off the 2 buttons below the mouse pad
and the 3 above it is not necessary, just the actual mouse pad. But if the
buttons get turned off as well, that is fine.

Thanks,

Annette
