Hi,

Thanks for your email and support.

This is exactly what I tried first, and it works wonders on all the pages
except the one in question. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to share
the web address of the page I am having trouble with. The page in question
is on our companies intranet, it requires authorized access, hence the
limitation in sharing the URL. So far I have been using sighted help in my
office to get my job accomplished on that page, which needs to be done once
every month. We call it the time sheet entry, some kind of billing tool to
keep record of man hours allocated to a project.

I think using the jaws cursor also helps to a certain extent. I am not
saying that I can't do the job at all, but would have preffered if JAWS
could announce the column headings, in this case they contain the day of the
week and the date for each column in the row below we need to fill out 9
hours, hard to tell if that day was a company off, if you dont get the date
announced.

Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Tables on Webpages

You need to set the settings for Table Titles. In Internet Explorer or
Firefox, press Insert + v for the Quick Settings dialog. Type in the
word "table" into the search box. Now arrow down to "Table Titles", and
hit the Enter key. Press Space to change this value. The default is to
read only properly labeled titles coded into the HTML of the webpage.
If you select rows and columns, it will announce the first row and
column as the titles.
Hit the Enter key again to save the new setting.
