Hi Steve & Shannon, I don't use Outlook 2010 on this computer but, you can give the following a try. Try pressing the keystroke, Insert + V, for quick settings, arrow down to, Messages Automatically Read, press the spacebar to toggle this to, off, or uncheck it, tab to okay & press enter to save your changes & close.
