Hi Trish, To find out if the computer is 32 or 64 bit try the following: 1. Press the keystroke, windows key + pause key, to open system Information. 2. Route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor, Insert + Jaws key / numpad minus key. Press the page up key to take the cursor to the top of the page. 3. Arrow down 1 line at a time to get information about your computer. You will come across a line that says, System Information, & this is where it will tell you if it's a 32 or 64 bit computer. Also, you need to run the latest version of Jaws12, according to FS tech support, for Jaws to operate correctly. Jaws standard version will work on Windows7 Home Premium, you do not need the Jaws Pro version. HTH Take care. Seems like somewhere back there, if you had a certain amount of memory it was considered to be 32 bit, if you had more it was 64 bit. So, before I got my LP I kept that in mind and have 6/gb memory, but think she only has 3/gb, so wouldn't that mean even though it's window's 7, it's just 32 bit? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Justice" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2013 2:42 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Jaws Version for Win/7 Hi Trish, I have found that version 11 works marginally, so 12 or higher should perform much better. I'm not quite sure what you are asking in regards to the 32 64-bit question, but it will have to match the operating system. Jaws won't install otherwise. This isn't for me, but for the sister who like I said, has win 7, she said her jaws is running staticy and I think she said she has version 11, which I said probably was the problem, but wanted to make sure I was telling her right. Does the 32 vrs 64 bit come into play on Jaws versions in this situation?
