I'm using Google Chrome with JAWS 12. I haven't had any problems with
it. It's my everyday browser. I've used Firefox before, but I don't like
it. It's sort of slow at times, stops working, other times JAWS stops
responding. IE was alright, but I wouldn't go back. I'm quite satisfied
with Chrome.

Firefox works "some of the time" without hanging, but it's unpredictable. I
could try looking to see if I missed removing any add-ons other than my
security software add-ons and see if that helps. I actually used Chrome
today to finish placing my on-line business orders and it ran flawlessly ;D.
Very responsive and stable. Explorer crashed no less than 5-times in a half
an hour. I use to swear by Firefox, my wife too. She was directed by the IT
department at work to use Chrome as it is the most secure and stable at this
point. Granted she is sighted, but I know there are folks using screen
readers with Chrome, apparently successfully.

I think Internet Explorer 8 is OK on a Windows 7 PC, occasional crashes but
OK. Firefox is not bad either. Would not recommend Chrome.

I really would like to dump Firefox and Explorer, the former locking up most
times on the initial launch and the latter crashing continually despite most
add-ons disabled. Using Jaws 14.x and Windows 7, is there a way to get Jaws
to read the screen using a Jaws cursor in Google Chrome? I had the same
issue with Firefox, but it's pretty much history for me at least until bugs
are worked out, so I don't much care at the moment. Any help on Chrome
tweaks or tips are greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike,
Actually I have no problems opening and closing a drop down list box. My
problem is that a lot of code is written so that as soon as you move down
with the arrow key, it makes that first selection your choice automatically
and sends you off to whatever that choice is.
I would like to go up and down through those lists without it making a
selection automatically so I can see all of the choices before selecting one
on my own.

Alt + up arrow to open & Alt + down arrow to hold your selection / close.

I have older versions of JAWS so this may not be a problem for newer JAWS
versions, but how do I go thru the selections in a drop down list without

automatically selecting and sending me to the very first item in the list?
I use either JAWS 8 or JAWS 10 and Windows XP Pro.
