yes I would say that that would be my priority at first is to find out what
the heck is different between it and others

sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I am stumped, I'll dig in my notes
soon and see if I have anything on it but I do not remember anything like
this before.

windows headings, but none have anything concerning i.e. 10. guess I need a
sighted person, but not happy with my pc for not acting like my others with

jaws on them. thanks

hmmm,

apparently they are, I'm trying to figure out how is the trick.

I thought I knew enough of w7 to assist you, but I still run into things
that baffle me and this has just become one of them.

I have not seen this reaction. or method of readout, are you using jaws or
something else. and have you rebooted since the update?

if your machine installed the I.E. 10 update, it must show up in the update
window, that's start menu, then type in control panel until you have it
enter, go to the "programs and features" link, and enter on it.
next you tab across until you see the "view installed updates" link and
enter on it and it will show up in that list of items

if yours is not working this way then I have no clue what may or may not
have been turned on or off to cause this change in readings.

and to activate it should be the same internet explorer icon that was in
your start menu previously.

apologies on my not being able to assist you more in this, but you have me
stumped this time,

obviously I'm not familiar enough with the add or remove menu to follow your

instructions. as I said, on my xp pc, internet explorer is displayed as
internet explorer on the menu. on mine, the menu begins with 2, 3 digit
numbers, the downloaded program name, (letters and numbers), another name,
then date. if yours sounds different than this, then our machines are set
different

its in the updates sub section look for a (I think its a ) button and enter
on it that should put you in the correct window.

I went to the "add or remove " list, and there is no "internet explorer"
listed, as it was on my xp pc, and only 2 windows listed, "windows live
essentials" and "windows live sync", and since I do want to "uninstall" i.e.

10, can someone out there using windows 7, please go to their "add or
remove" list, and tell me if there is a listing for their version of i.e.,

and if there is, please let me know what the listing says?

Hi Tom,

Try this out, in the search box of the start menu of windows 7 type add and
remove programs and hit enter. Once the control panel window is open, use
shift tab to move to the link that says Turn Windows features on or off and
hit enter on it. In the list of programs you will find internet explorer
which ever version, if you check the box and tab to the OK button, it will
disable this feature. It's not exactly uninstalling the program but
disabling the windows feature. Now you can go ahead and install the new
version of IE.

But to my knowledge you can directly upgrade IE by downloading the latest
version and launching the setup file to the windows installer.
