This is Lee.
There are many times when we use the ABCD buttons for North South East and West.
We discovered it was best to standardise this between games, so we always
design with A and D for West and East, then B and C for North and South. We
also introduce the controls in that order.
This might sound strange, but in testing we found people were most comfortable
with hearing the controls as Left then Right, Up then Down. We think there's
something in the way people perceive the controls, or in how humans create a
visual perception.

Up until now, we've always used compass directions as a way of navigating, but
I managed to build a new way which appears in the upcoming Bank Robbing
Bunnies. In this new style, one of our Bunnies steals a car and has to
stealthily drive it using A to turn left, D to turn right, B to continue
forward, or C to park and lay low whilst the cops look for you.
So, instead of pressing a button to go North, you now press buttons to change
direction. If you are facing East and press to turn left, you'll end up facing
North.
During this game, you've got to drive across the city. If you hear the cops you
need to go quiet, and there is a hidden challenge in that there are three one
way streets. There's a bonus if you can find and go down them all.
