Ouchers. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Thankfully she made it through that, and hopefully life starts to hand her more tasty and squeezable lemons. Just make sure she doesn't squeeze them into her eye - or anyone else's, for that matter - because I hear that hurts like a muh-trucka. Either way, I wish her luck.

Greetings, everyone.
I'm happy to see the list has been resurrected. I'd say we update our limerick, but we really don't have much material with which to update it
beyond 2011.
At any rate, I, too, am pretty swamped with school. 18 credit hours, a fraternity, three choirs, and a boatload of other things will do that, I guess. It's definitely busy, but very enjoyable. I'll just have to remember that as I'm taking my upcoming four tests, running to my three choir concerts happening in two weeks, and finishing an Accounting project that is
in severe need of finishing.
On the technological front, I had to get an iPhone 5S in November because my 4 was running about as slow as a turtle in a 5k. However, just yesterday, I noticed that my 5S started having the same problem my 4 had at the very end of its existence: it will talk when my Apple earbuds are unplugged, and it will talk when I'm in a call. Siri always works. However, when I'm not on a call, VoiceOver won't come through my earbuds. Thank goodness for its Bluetooth connection with my Apex, or I'd be screwed. Overall, it's great, though, and that newfound obstacle is definitely not the worst thing in the
world.
I know this is in a differently-titled portion of the thread, but Devin, I echo what Nick said about finding a support group. Your depression resonates with me because this weekend, a very good friend of mine tried to commit suicide while I was out of town. Luckily, her body started fighting to live, and she got help before she could bring herself to do any real damage. Talking to someone can make all the difference. I've heard from different people at different schools -- my friend included -- that the counselors at our colleges' mental health facilities aren't always the most helpful, but there's bound to be something -- and someone -- in your area who can
alleviate some of the pain and stress.
Anyway, have a Mondayish Monday. I'm going to work on my giant to-do list
and eat some PB&J.

Emily

Hi all,

Yeah, I may even talk to my parents and see if I can just get a 5S over midterm break. I really want to make my 4 last as long as it can, but ever since I installed the last upgrade it's gotten into a habit of randomly resetting whenever it feels like it. I'll go to answer a phone call, or just be waiting for an app to load, or just unlock my phone and just get to the home screen after putting in my pass code, and it will give me the apple for a minute or two and reset. It's really annoying, but I've made the phone last for 2 and a half years, which is better than a lot of other people I know. *cough cough, my clumsy sibling who drops hers and cracks
the screen constantly).

I had a really rough semester in the fall. I won't go into details on the list, but I found just talking to other people who could just listen really helped. It sounds like Nick is right in that a support group might be what you need. I would advise that you really look for an in-person one; I know that it may seem undoable with school commitments and homework, but honestly school sounds like it is what is bringing you down. Sometimes even when we are most stressed with other things, we need to make time for ourselves in order to fix the other issues. Most support groups only meet once a week or every 2 weeks anyway, so it shouldn't be a huge obligation. And, if the group isn't working for you, or the person you're confiding in just doesn't
seem to get it,, don't be afraid of trying someone new.

I love my BrailleSense. I don't have the perks of dropbox and youtube since I got the On-Hand, but quite honestly I think it is the best model for me for the time being. It's really nice because when I go into a practicum session I can keep it on my person the entire time, jott down notes quickly as I go, etc. It's light enough that it doesn't bog me down, and small enough that it doesn't really get in the way, and it has the functionality I need. Of course, I would like to have youtube and dropbox built in at some point, and could see myself getting a U2 in a while, but the On-Hand is
great for me at this stage of the game.

Online isn't out of the question, but I'd also strongly recommend that you google support groups in your area and just see what you can find.

Thank you. I've not thought about that. I don't know of any support groups around where I'm at, and don't feel all that comfortable with offline stuff, because I'd never have much time for it, with school taking up all the week, and the only time I'd have to be free of it and be able to do what I want is on the weekdns, so online would be the place I'd have to go. An email list would be good, as I'd be able to access it anywhere, so I'll have to take a trip to yahoo groups I
suppose, LOL

Hmm. That kind of sucks. All the same, have you ever thought about looking into support groups around where you're at? Even if they're not always in person? I'm not even talking strictly about blindness, but depression in general. If school and life are getting you down and you're really stumped as to how you're going to live out the rest of your life, maybe some sort of support group can help you find ways
to figure it out. Just a friendly suggestion from one listy to
another.

I love pizza too! I can eat 7 slices now. Yes, I'm the big fat
205 pound happy cat! And the wifi is down, so I'm not sure when
y'all will ge! flooded with my replies. I'm kinda sad at this point. I don't know what I'll do with my life. I'm not good at much. This school hasn't taught me much about independence. I mean, I'm 19. I'm
in the 11th grade. And my gosh this school hasn't helped much at
alldd^the people are like family, because I'm around them most. But these people try to keeep the school from being sewed and all, so they can't provide emotional support. And when I do something wrong, according to them, its all my fault. Everying is all on me. I'm fat and lazy, stupid and all, all because of me. I'm depressed because of my own inactivity and all. But oh well. Sometimes I just feel like going under; just living life mechanically, just going through the motions, and not caring. Another part of me wants to beee what all life can give, although the more I live the more that part dies. No one around me can help. My family simply can't be involved with me. I
don'! see them enough. So I just don't know what to do, about
anything. The walls around my heart are there, and I have a mask of loving my laziness and all, that keeps people away from me. I don't mind being alone, or at least without that many friends around me. I
push people away usually.
But online, , put myself out there, usually. I have a voice online, I can be myself; say what I want. But offline, I can be yelled at,
and all that.

 Hello, my children.

I know what you're probably thinking. What? Another BTT message? I thought I was finally able to get rid of that group thingy once
and for all!

Well, sorry to disappoint you. Here I am, once again, annoying you all with my pointless ramble. Why am I torturing you, you ask? Well,
a few reasons come to mind. Firstly, I just wanted to see who
actually responds. Second of all, I somehow managed to accidentally download every last email I have ever sent using my gmail account onto my iPhone recently, and among them are hundreds, perhaps even
thousands, of old Btt emails - many of which I was going through
today - and it made me feel a little nostalgic. Last but not least, I'm a little disappointed in myself for letting this thing die the way it did, and not let it possibly evolve or grow into something
hugistically huger, like I had once dreamed.

So, there you have it. I suppose I could have simply said "heyy
wats up w/ yall how r u doin" and been done with it, but I'm wide
awake and somewhat in a ranting mood. So please, pardon my
transgression this time around.

 Love,
 Your subconscious

 P.S. I like fried chicken.
