Hi losers (I um mean listies):

Damn. That's one hell of an instrument. Rofl. Any reason why they gave it such a massive name? Lol.

I've never had to deal with the counseling center at my school - although I was tempted to after one particularly depressing incident last spring - but I can't say I know anyone who deals with it, and I have talked to at least a couple of people who have coped with depression in college. That kind of tells me something about it, if you ask me. I did some stuff with the NFB in my early teenaged years - and a little bit in my senior year of high school - and going off of what Kaiti said, Devin, I think it could definitely be a huge asset to your situation. There are a lot of motivated, hard-working students there that have probably been through your situation, and it would be to your advantage to get in touch with them. Hell, the peeps in charge, for lack of a better term because I'm half awake, would be a good asset for those same reasons. Lol. Even though I wasn't that involved with the NFB growing up, just having the chance to interact with - and ultimately learn from - other blind fucks my age, for whatever reason, was some sort of motivator that, even now, I can't really explain. For this reason, I vote that Devin should be forced into a plastic bag and hauled into NFB events. Murmrmrm? I mean, uh... screw it. I'm tired. Leave me alone! Alone, I say!

P.S. Kaiti, I didn't get the reference, although something with the initials RC seems to snap to the forefront of my mind. Or maybe I wasn't supposed to get it. I don't know.

Hi,

Going off of what Emily said, I have gotten mixed reviews about the counseling center at my school. Some say it is great, and really look forward to their appointments; personally though, I really did not feel like the counselors tried to understand what I was telling them about, and switched counselors because I just didn't feel like the first one I was assigned was even working well with me. He actually
asked if we were done before he even addressed any of the goal
statement s he had me write at the beginning of our talks, so I
thought that was pretty shadey. The next person thought the answer to my problems would be just prescribing me a drug and sending me on my merry way, for a disorder I do not actually have. I was stressed out,
and needed some help managing it; but I got some infrequent
appointments with overbooked and under-empathetic psychologists who really did not help me at all. Perhaps all you need might be a change in classes if you can swing it; I have a slightly lighter course load and some variation in classes which I did not have last semester, and I'm much happier and have more of my stuff together this semester. It's amazing what changing your classes can do. If you do need to talk to someone, I would not see the school counselors, and would look
for someone more impartial to the school stuff. An NFB student
division would be great, and would connect you with some other blind
students who are new in your state. I am president of the Ohio
Student Division, so if you would like help in connecting to your
state president just let me know.

I'm actually really happy because I'm taking a communications module which ends after week 5. And guess what week it is? Guess, what,
week, it is? Week, fiivhvhvhvhvhvhvhve! I hope someone got the
reference, lol. So, that will be 1 credit down, 19 to go for this semester. I can definitely sympathize with Emily on the concert-mania too; I have a concert this weekend, a Thursday Night Live performance on the 27th, and a few concerts in April for the various groups I'm in
to start preparing for. One group has me learning a mideaval
instrument called the viola de gamba, which is best described as the ugly wedlock child of a guitar and a violin/cello depending on whether you are referring to the treble or bass versions. It looks weird, but
I love it!

Anyway, night y'all. Sorry if I rambled.

What do you mean by an SDK? I have to admit to being a little lost.

Yes, but bookshare doesn't have a lot of translations. And, the Braille
sense has an SDK.

Yeah, well... not sure the built-in bible was a necessity, since you can
simply get one from bookshare. But hey, whatevs. Lol.

paradise! It even has a built-in bible!

The BrailleSense is definitely more equipped and I would choose one over an apex ... unless I was a math student. The Apex allows you to write in Nemeth, and that's about the only positive thing I can see about it Vs. a

Lol. My apologies. I was thinking of the BrailleSense Plus by GW Micro. I'm really really tempted to appeal to State Services for the Blind and see if
I
can't trade my apex out for one. But then again, my apex and I go way back, and I would be very sad indeed to lose it. Plus, all glitches aside, my
apex really is awesome.
It's just that, from what I've heard, a BrailleSense is a little bit
more...
shall we say, equipped?

Ah, the braille plus isn't all that yet. Yeah yeah, you can install apps, all that. But its on android 2.3.5. And APH keep saying they'll push an
update, but that hasn't happened since November of last year.
Ugh, they should hire more devs or something, because I'm getting sick of
the bugs that clearly stand out to me and other bp18 users.
And,
the reader app only works with daisy books. You have to download go read just to read epub books. And, and and and... The braille plus 18 doesn't even have a calculator app! And I've tried countless calc apps, none of
them
are accessible.

  Hello, my children.

I know what you're probably thinking. What? Another BTT message? I thought I was finally able to get rid of that group thingy once and for
all!

Well, sorry to disappoint you. Here I am, once again, annoying you all with my pointless ramble. Why am I torturing you, you ask? Well, a few reasons come to mind. Firstly, I just wanted to see who actually responds. Second of all, I somehow managed to accidentally download every last email I have ever sent using my gmail account onto my iPhone recently, and among them are hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of old Btt emails - many of which I was going through today - and it made me feel a little nostalgic. Last but not least, I'm a little disappointed in myself for letting this thing die the way it did, and not let it possibly evolve or grow into
something hugistically huger, like I had once dreamed.

So, there you have it. I suppose I could have simply said "heyy wats up
w/
yall how r u doin" and been done with it, but I'm wide awake and somewhat in a ranting mood. So please, pardon my transgression this time around.

  Love,
  Your subconscious

  P.S. I like fried chicken.
