  Right, but the implementation here doesn't require knowing where the 
cursor is at all.  After a bit of practice, you get a feel for how much 
movement equates to how much throttle, the same way you get a feel for the 
accelerator of a car.  The same goes for the lean of the Racer, after a bit 
of practice, you will know how much to move the mouse to take a curve, then 
when you release the D key, the stabilizers kick back in and straighten the 
Racer up on the rail.
  I truly think folks that try the mouse as a controller for Rail Racer 
won't want to use the keyboard, but I will build in keyboard control for 
those without mice.
