Hi, Joseph. I agree that alternative input devices should be supported, but his idea of using the mouse for input is a good one. Allot of VI gamers have misgivings about using the mouse for games, because of experiences attempting to use one in standard applications. In games however the input method, the way the mouse input is handled, is completely different. In standard apps the mouse pointer is tracked to find out what location it is on the screen to trigger an event when a button is clicked. In games all the game really cares about if the mouse has moved from it's current location, and why. For example you could be at some x/y location and if you move the mouse left your character turns in that direction. The mouse is moved forward and the character walks forward. the tricky thing is mice are allot more rapid than other input devices so sometimes all it takes is a gental movement in one direction or another.
