Jenniffer,
I'm probably late on this, but I have a large fan which we use a lot,
and I oil it regularly.

Presumably the blades are mounted to the shaft of the motor.
There would be bearings needing oil at both ends of the motor where the shaft
enters it and probably where the other end of the shaft resides at the end
of the motor opposite the blades.

Particularly the shaft where it leaves the motor headed for the blade is often
hard to get at without removing the blade.
Mine requires a medium allen wrench in a screw at the side of th blade
hub, but situations may varry a lot.
Try to get a goodly amount of 3 in 1 oil dribbled around these bearings.
with the fan positioned so the oil will run down into the bearings, meaning
you'll probably have to turn it over to get both ends.

Hope that helps and isn't redundant to other replies.

Tom
