Robert: Cfm is "cubic feet per minute", of air that your compresser can generate. Typically, tanks are measured in terms of gallons. Pressure on the other hand is expressed in PSI, pounds per square inch, so I suspect your compresser operates at 100 PSI. My unit is pretty small, about 6 CFM, and it's adequate for what I need, since I don't really do production work. Bill Stephan Kansas City, MO (816)803-2469 William Stephan

I do know that it is a rather old compressor and has a 100 pound tank capacity. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, December 18, 2006 12:14 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Air Tools hi there before considering the options of tools you want to use with your compressor. you need to find out your rated CFM of the compressor as the air from the reciever is set in differing capacities. your compressor won't effectively drive air tools if its low CFM such as 4 cfm. it will only work for air nailers and tyre inflators or blow guns. besides that it won't do much more. well besides spraying car body work. if your compressor is above 8 CFM you can drive many other tools like impact wrenches, air chisels, drills, spot weld cutters, air sanders and finishers, air cut off saws and more. my workshop contains a plethora of air equipment as that is my main system for safe work. unless I need real power. lew [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] To listen to the show archives go to link http://acbradio.org/handyman.html or ftp://ftp.acbradio.org/acbradio-archives/handyman/ The Pod Cast address for the Blind Handy Man Show is. http://www.acbradio.org/news/xml/podcast.php?pgm=saturday The Pod Cast address for the Cooking In The Dark Show is. http://www.gcast.com/u/cookingindark/main.xml Visit the new archives page at the following address http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ For a complete list of email commands pertaining to the Blind Handy Man list just send a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo!
