Hi :)

If you have one burner running, and turn on a SECOND burner, does the
flame on the FIRST burner drop? If not, it's not the
regulator. If the regulator's "stuck", when you turn on the second burner,
the pressure drops and burner 1's flame will drop. The more burners you turn
on, the lower they all go.

Is only the oven flame too low? What about the stovetop burners? If
the top burners are fine and only the oven is low, you have a clogged orifice
where the gas mixes with the air in the oven burner. Run a fine wire
in the hole and see if you can clear it. It might be rusted up, too.
The burner comes off the gas jet so you can get to the orifice.

If all the flames are too low, but turning on another burner doesn't
change other burners' flame levels, the regulator pressure is set to
low.
Your regulator can be found in the supply line to your range(usually beneath
your cook top). Lift the top and follow the gas supply line, you will find a
squarish or round device with a screw slotted cap in the center of it.
The adjustment is under that big screw in the center of the
regulator diaphragm. Turn it in for more pressure, out for less

Last March, on a nice sunny day I did the same thing. Thought it would be
nice to have a nice brand new shiny gas grill. Wrong, bad choice. I don't like
it much. Great for cooking a steak, are something that needs to be cooked
really quick. But a damned high priced steak cooker. Give me charcoal any day.
the thing is a pain too clean, And it drips grease. I am really disappointed in
gas grills. On the other hand, I all so bought an electric smoker, Love it.
They all so make some fine propane smokers. To keep this on topic. I haven't
found a good handy way to keep the grill a fix for the heat. Don

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Does your gas grill burn to hot?

Last year I bought a new stainless steel gas grill for the back yard. Well
I was disappointed with it because it burned to damn hot. It was fine for
steaks and burgers, but to hot for chicken. Yesterday, I was at a family
owned hardware store that was having a 50 percent going out of business
sale. Probably due to Home Depot that opened last year. Anyway, I ask if
there was such a regulator for a gas grill that I could regulate the amount
of gas being fed into the burners, and I was told such a beast did exist,
but they had no more in stock. So, while going to the store with my wife,
she noticed a True Value store, so we stop and checked them out for the
regulator. Well, this damn regulator was $29. and I decided I'd look else
where to see if I could get it cheaper.
Anyway on the regulator itself, there is a valve you can turn to open it up
more, or turn to lower the amount of gas flowing into the gas burners. So
  if
you have a grill that burns to damn hot, here's your solution. Hope this
wasn't off topic for the list.
