Robert,

As you well know battery potential goes away with the temperature that said,
my recommendations would be: If it is the kind you can service make certain
the cells are topped up with distilled water, the cables and terminals are
clean and in good condition and finally start it at least two or three
times a week. You might also consider putting a moisture displacer in your
fuel tank as cold temps can cause condensation to form in the fuel system.
These products are very common where it gets cold so just ask your friendly
neighborhood parts guy for a recommendation.
Better you than me bro...
Our high for yesterday was 61 and sunny.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] battery maintanance for the winhter

It has been in the teens and single digets up here and going to get colder.
I have a very strong battery in my pick up. I don't want to take it out
because I want to have the pickup available in the event that we need it as
a back up in case we can't use the car for what ever reason. How often would
you recommend starting it in order to keep the battery charged I am thinking
I should run it for about at least 15 to 20 minutes each time I start it
would that be long enough. Even when it gets really cold it should start OK.
I used it all last winter and never had a problem starting it. and the
plugs, wires, cap and roter are all pretty new.

Robert
