Might you consider one of those little solar trickle charger devices? They 
promote them as a means of keeping ATV and other batteries topped up. I think 
they generate 10 or 15 watts, just enough to keep a full charge.  Seems to me 
they are pretty cheap now at Canadian Tire anyway.

  Robert, you m9ight also want to consider putting a battery maintainer
  hookup on that truck. we got one a few years back at Walmart for just
  under $24. it is hooked to the battery we have next to the generator.
