I don't know what kind you have. Most of them use a battery about the size of a quarter. Some will have a very small screw holding the cover on and some have the type where thumb pressure will slide it off. If you go to Radio Shack they may still have some of their gauges on close out. I paid less than the battery for several last year. Each of my kids now have one. ----- Original Message ----- From: Matt To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2007 3:48 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Tire gage
Ok, so does the talking tire gage come minus batteries? Also, where is the battery compartment? May be making a trip to radio shack shortly. I see a rubber bubble button, and a teeny tiny plastic switch and what I figure is a LCD screen between the two.. The speaker seems to be at the bottom of that same side. There is a metal insert which comes out and can be swopped around, I figure for different sized stems. And, the whole thing pops apart down the middle. I did get something which talks about changing the batteries, but my reader didn't make much since out of it. There is a rubber stopper piece at the back of it behind the part which goes over the stem. May write back later to report what radio shack could tell me.
