Lenny, I'd bet most chargers for relatively small electronics don't take more than 10 watts or so, maybe 20. So a few of those is no deal. Cell phones are even less.
If all yo wanna do is charge stuff like that you're probably fine with either unit. A volt meter on the van's battery will give you some idea of charge, if it drops below 12 volts with the engine off, you better quit drawing on it unless you want to push. Tom
