A trickle charger doesn't take a lot of power, but fo foot is starting to get
out there. The normal outdoor cords with 16 or 14 gage with the sj, so, sjo
and such jacket whould be ok. You are not planning on driving over it are you?.
As for a splitter on the other wire, I hope you are talking about installling a
weatherproof box with a outlet and weatherproof cover.

Is there a particular cord that one might reccomend to run
electricity maybe 50 feet from an outside outlet. I want to hook up a
tricle charge on a truck we have setting for right now. what I was
thinking is a standard lead or extension cord might not be weather proof
or is it better than using a piece of 12-2 or 14-2 whire/ romex wire? I
could also tag it into a whire I have coming out of the house which goes
into my generator box. that wire provides electricity which maintains a
trickle charge to a big truck battery that powers the starting of the
generator. maybe putting a splitter there ? got ideas feel free to
  comment. thanks.Lee
