I have the Olympus VN5200 PC. I use it to record my piano lessons, use it
for messages, lists, phone numbers, to-do's. It has five separate files and
each file holds up to 200 messages. It's digital and runs on two AAA
batteries and holds something like 130 recording hours and it costs $60, and
it's a little larger than a disposable cigarette lighter, and the sound
quality is excellent.

All,

I have an Olympus DS30, and it's an awesome digital recorder.
It does have a speaker, and the quality is pretty good.

Hi Keith,

What ever gave you the idea that the Muvo T100 was a recorder?

The Muvo T100 is an MP3 player only, not a recorder.

Depending on how much you want to spend, I would suggest the PlexTalk line
of recorders, or the Olympus DS 30 to 71 line of recorders.

Each of these has a speaker built into the unit, and, in the case of the
Olympus line, will take memory cards that will expand it's recording time.

They will also serve as MP3 players, and all of these units have speech
output, so you know what you're doing along each step of the recording
process.

Again, I don't know who it was that told you the Muvo T100 was a recorder,
but who ever it was, you should definitely tell them off in a big way.
