Hello!
Personally, I wouldn't put citronella candles in a crockpot because you'd
have a royal mess if the crockpot were knocked over or you had wax drip. I
have a citronela plant which works great! But...you could put the candle in
something that's not flammable, but that is disposable and then light the
candle with a lighter or with a long, wooden kitchen match. You can also
find long plastic utensils with kind of a trigger-like lever that might be
more comfortable for you to handle. These things are used a lot for
fireplaces. I light candles over the sink and then put them in a coffee or
tuna can to carry them.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] citronella candles

Karen has some citronella candles to help keep the bugs away. I was sitting
outside for a little while becoming the main course for some of these bugs.
She is not at home and I am uncomfortable about burning the candles on the
front porch. Is there something that a blind individual can use to safely
burn these scented candles? I thought about getting a small crock pot and
putting the scented wax inside and turning it on for the effect. Not sure if

this would work or how long would it have to be on before it melted the wax.
