The easiest way is to have a sighted person put the first role or two on. Than
make a jig to keep the singles in line. The standard U S single is either 4 or
5 inches. I put mine on at the 5 inch mark. You do this by cutting a board
about 3 inches wide and 7 inches long. Under cut to the 5 inch mard, Leaving 1
1/2 to 2 inches to butt up against the bottom of the single and laying the top
single at the top of the board, giving u your 5 inch mark. I believe Canadian
singles are a little over 5 1/2 inches.

  Hi,

When shingling a roof, What do you use as a jig to line up the shingles
  across the roof?

  Thanks,
