Thanks Bob, I have like a 6 gallon unit and it's really loud, much more so
than the one I remember from years back anyway.

They don't sound like a regular air compressor. They don't have pistons.
They aren't as loud as my shop model but that isn't saying much either.

The cool thing about them is they can restart when the pressure drops to
around 75 pounds or so and it doesn't trip the circuit breaker. They'll run
any of the air nailers but you'll keep it running if you try to use a tire
gun or air ratchet...

I just bought a new compressor, a 3 gallon, pancake style from Harbor 
Freight, on sale for $60. If anyone wants one, they will be on sale 
through August 10. I wanted to air up the tires on our wheel 
barrow. I aired up one ok but the other tire will not air up. I 
push on the air chuck and nothing happens. Any ideas?
