Victor, 800 watts won't boil a kettle or curl the wife's hair. You can run a couple of lights and the TV. You might run the furnace so long as you don't need the fridge or the freezer.
Might be nice for camping, it doesn't weigh much. for something useful in emergencies lasting more than a few hours I don't suppose one wants anything less than about five kilowatts. It will be interesting to hear what others think. ----- Original Message ----- From: Victor To: Blind Handyman Listserv Sent: Friday, July 24, 2009 9:35 AM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Opinions on a product Hi Folks, My wife and I are thinking of buying a particular generator that's currently on sale at our local Canadian Tire, a sort of poor man's big box store.
