You can buy a tube cutter from any decent hardware store.  If the area where 
the pipe needs to be cut, mention this and the folks at the store should 
recommend a slightly modified cutter that will be more usable in tight places.

Although it's called a "tube cutter" it can be used to cut copper pipe.  When 
using this tool, the trick is to:

a) identify where on the pipe you want to make your cut
b) position the cutter so the cutting wheel is at that very position
c) tighten the cutter so that the cutting wheel is (very) slightly snug
d) make a few rotations around the pipe until the cutting wheel feels fairly 
loose
e) repeat steps c & d until the pipe is cut through
