The "booster" is a radio frequency amplifier you put on the output of the transmitter, between it and the antenna. That should work fine if the transmitter is made to drive a 75 ohm antenn system. The cheaper transmitters are made to drive a short whip directly which may not be a 75 ohm match. the audio source into the transmitter is just like driving any audio line level input.
