The recording cability is all so supose to be excellent, on the pocket, plus 
the ability to talk. even has a audible VU meeter. around the same price, as 
the roland.    The pocket should be excellent for live recordings.

the edirol hr09 is a super high quality recorder by roland.
very high resolution but not too blind friendly.
nothing speaks, but i use it for live music recordings
does 16 and 24 bit recording on to an sd card.
about $350
