Folks,

This might be a strange question to some, but here it goes. I am considering an
auning for our front step and possibly our basement stairwell. What I am trying
to picture in my mind is how the water would flow off of these things without
completely drowning the poor person who walks under it to reach the door. I
have a gutter that runs the length of the house and I am wondering if it would
have to be split to allow for connecting the cover over the porch or do you
simply install this cover such that it would sit below the butter. If it would
be installed and sit under the gutter, I assume then the cover having ridges
running to perpendicular to the approach (left/right as you face it) the water
would tend to run off the grooves and not on the person. Does that make sense
and am I at all on the right track? I have not seen one of these in so long, I
cannot recall exactly how they are installed.

tnx,
