I very much disagree with using something like that as the tag that is
effectively a unique key in database columns. Display name is different,
but for database debugging, I really don't want to have to tell the
difference between i and í and ì and ı.
Not to mention that those 4 variants of i have 6 different Unicode
representations. You do *not* want to deal with Unicode normalization
issues in primary keys.

Yeah, I don't think we have any need to provide such a large character space to work from. I would also make sure that we are case-insensitive for prefixes as there should be little need for pr1 not to refer to the same thing as PR1. It is annoying to me that milestones are case-sensitive.
