6.8.14 and 6.8.15 happened to occur during the latest patch deployment by MS which caused changes in C Runtime Library. Neither of those two versions have passed testing.
It is not necessary to uninstall an existing BOINC install. The easiest procedure I've come up with is just create a GridRepublic account and then tell GridRepublic which projects you participate in. After that, add the Facebook application to your wall, when it asks if you already have an account you say yes, and plug in your GridRepublic credentials. >From that point forward it'll be just like if you had installed the PTP client. ----- Rom -----Original Message----- From: Jorden van der Elst [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, August 05, 2009 2:19 PM To: Rom Walton Cc: [email protected]; Boinc Projects Subject: Re: [boinc_dev] Progress Thru Processors Launched There is a good point brought up through http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=4161 Is it really necessary for those users with their own BOINC client already installed to uninstall that version and install the GR supplied one? The thread starter attached to the PTP projects with his own 5.10.45, will that give him any trouble? Why is the GR supplied one 2 versions behind on the latest test version (6.8.13 vs 6.8.15)? -- -- Jord. _______________________________________________ boinc_dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_dev To unsubscribe, visit the above URL and (near bottom of page) enter your email address.
