No, I cannot register a Chinese member name. It seems there are other old "filter" making a Chinese member name invalid. I'm curious that shouldn't they use the same "filter"?
About the password, don't worry about it because the browser limited it to input any characters other than English and numbers. I think this is the rule of browsers.
