I'd have to see your whole form to figure out what is wrong, but I got
this to work on my site just fine:
[messages]
[form]
[text code][submit]
[session if "equal {=code} mypass ? msg_1=yep , msg_2=hi there :
msg_1=nope , msg_2=good bye"]
[form]

P.S. It's always eager to debug if you can see the whole form. I can
just cut and paste and give it a whirl...
