I must have tried slashes instead of backslashes. :D I'm sorry.

Linux:
Using BACKslashes I could not preview independently of the
blockslashes setting. Preview was like save. But at least the
backslashes did not disappear or multiply (Ha! Read on!)

Mac:
Preview failed as above. Backslashes were doubled each time I saved or
previewed. Independent of blockslashes.

Sorry for bringing in the bad news... :)
