Ok, thanks so far for your help and comments. I think I will just delve in and start to set up the site in its default language. Then I hopefully will have a deeper understanding of the inner workings and will eventually be able to figure it out myself. I must say, after having set up boltwire, I am pretty impressed from its speed.
