I gave out a bunch of books last halloween, and a lot of the kids were super
excited about them! I also had a handful of Steven King, VC Andrews, and Dean
Koontz that i gave to the parents... They all saw it as a very nice gesture.
I even saw one father start reading one as he was waiting for his kis at the
end of the driveways.

No journals yet... but so it goes.

Anyone else plan on giving books to children for Trick or Treat? (I
owe yvensong for that idea.) I rec'd some Goosebumps and similar books
intended for my zone that I've reserved. Btw, Costco also has bags of
mini Play-Doh that are another non-candy alternative - I'm going to
have my son bring those to his classroom on his birthday.
