I'm not nearly as prolific a reader as I once was. Too busy at work with pressing deadlines, sleep deprived with stress and currently distracted by the XM Radio in my new car. LOL.
But I *am* looking for good reads. I think I'm spoiled by Kingsolver, Niffenegger and Karon (a new law firm?). I've read everything by my favorite authors and haven't found any new ones that really get me going. I prefer character driven reads and historical fiction that is well researched. My well of inspiration has run dry. I'm reduced to re-reading old favorites. Maybe it's time to write my own book. I started Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die by Chip Heath, Dan Heath Great Book so far. I got about half way through and was hit with an overpowering desire for a fiction fix. So I re-read The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. This is the 5th or 6th time for me. I love this book. It's in my top ten, if not top five. Early on in the month, I listened to Shackleton's Way: Leadership Lessons from the Great Antarctic Explorer I'm challenging myself to be a better manager and periodically read something like this to keep me motivated. I also started reading Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done by Larry Bossidy & Ram Charam, but got distracted by the story of Shakelton. I much prefer things in story format, but some of the more recent "management parables" are too contrived to keep me hooked. Speaking of stories, a phenomenal book that I read earlier in February was Unstoppable: 45 Powerful Stories of Perseverance and Triumph from People Just Like You by Cynthia Kersey. I loved the stories, they really kept me going. -Curtis Small Group Ministry Resources: http://geocities.com/curtis721/ Fun for bookworms: http://bookcrossing.com ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for earth-friendly autos?
