Hello, all.

Two young male customers aged around 30, one of them perhaps 5' 10"
tall and with blond hair, the other somewhat shorter with dark hair,
both well dressed, possibly a gay couple, are strongly suspected of
theft from the shop. Believed resident in Cape Town and likely there
now.

The book in question can easily be identified from our description.

Mitford Barberton. THE BARBERS OF THE PEAK.
No inscription, boards clean, binding tight, corners of boards little
curled, some foxing to map and end pages and edges lightly browned, a
few neat and small ballpoint dates inserted on pages 198, 202, 203 and
204 else contents fine.

This is not the first time that they have visited us. In 2009 we
believe that they lifted a purse from one of the staff. These are
professional thieves.

Their modus operandi is very confident, they look at africana but
decline help / talk/ interference with their study of the books. Do not
leave the shop without staff being instructed to keep a close watch or
they will exit quickly with your goods, and they will wait an indefinite
period for the opportunity - they were in our shop for most of the
morning.

If you know of this couple, or if they attempt to sell you this book,
please contact us, Please if you purchase anything at all ensure that
you have valid id and contact details from them.

regards
Ian
